The bulk of the data were collected over many years by Dr. Thomas Atkinson in leading museum collections; Sarah Smith added lots of the images. The original dataset remains available at BarkBeetles.info. This present database is a new and updated version, prepared and curated by Tom Atkinson, Andrew J. Johnson, Eric Kuo, and Jiri Hulcr, with technical execution by Dust Productions.
