Taxonomy Comments

Wood & Bright (1992:877) suggest that this is probably an introduction into Brazil or a mislabeled specimen. Otherwise there are no species of the genus Cryphalus from South America. Johnson et al (2021:42) reported it from Hawai'i where it was found in several hosts.
