Ficicis porcatus
Wood & Bright (1992: 90) treated Ficicis porcatus Chapuis as a synonym of F. despectus Walker. Consequently the distribution and hosts lists in their catalog cannot be attributed to either species except for the type localities of the numerous synonyms of both. Beaver & Liu (2010:15) resurrected F. porcatus and stated that it has a more easterly distribution than F. despectus. On that basis localities from India and Indochina listed by Wood & Bright (1992) are attributed to F. despectus while those from Indonesia, the Phillipines and Pacific Islands are referred to F. porcatus. Beaver and Liu (2010) did not discuss Hylesinus samoanus which was described from Samoa.
