Bright (1981) included subopacus Blackman as a subspecies of P. segnis Blackman. Wood (1982, 1992) rejected this treatment. In Bright’s concept, segnis segnis is found in the southwestern U.S. and northern Mexico (Durango), with segnis subopacus restricted to central and southern Mexico. Wood (1982) cites specimens from the same locality in Durango from both nominal species. These species need to be re-examined.
