Taxonomy Comments
Wood (2007) listed Cladoctonus americanus for the material cited here from Campeche, Mexico. No species description was ever made so the name has no standing in nomenclature (nomen nudum). In any event I have compared the Campeche and other specimens from Mexico to the type of cubensis Wood and see no justification for recognizing a distinct species.
