Taxonomy Comments
This species is very closely related to hoegi Blandford and is likely a synonym. Wood (1982: 1240) acknowledges this. In his 1982 key insignatum and hoegi go in different directions in his couplet 15. In fact, insignatum should have gone the same way based on the characters. In his species description in the 1982 work he consistently compares it to hoegi even though they are remote in his key.
